IES Virtual Environment
The IES Virtual Environment (IESVE) is a powerful, in-depth suite of building performance analysis software tools. It allows the design and operation of comfortable buildings that consume significantly less energy. Whether working on a new build or renovation project, the VE allows designers to test different options, identify best passive solutions, compare low-carbon & renewable technologies, and draw conclusions on energy use, CO2 emissions, occupant comfort, and much more.
There are various tools in the suite; each designed to provide sustainable analysis at levels suitable for different design team members and design stages. All utilise an integrated central data model, which has direct links to SketchUp, Revit® or Trelligence™, and gbXML, Vectorworks Architect, Trimble Plancal IFC & dxf imports.
VE for Engineers
The VE for Engineers is a comprehensive and detailed toolset for building performance simulation. The Virtual Environment has a central data model which allows all types of analysis to be undertaken in an integrated manner, so results can be easily shared amongst applications to further inform and refine simulations, therefore the software has a truly whole building perspective. VE-Pro offers a flexible choice of modules across the following categories:
VE-Navigators
The VE-Navigators are region specific tools which address Global Rating System and Regulation requirements. They provide a robust and detailed step-by-step structured workflow alongside in-built QA functionality. VE-Navigators for LEED, LEED 2009 (2012 rev), ASHRAE 90.1 (LEED Energy), LEED-India, BREEAM, Green Star, Green Mark, New Zealand Compliance and UK Compliance 2010, UK Compliance 2013, OTTV Hong Kong, OTTV Malaysia are currently available.
VE for Architects
VE for Architects is IES’s architectural analysis tool which is used by architects, designers, urban planners, masterplanners, and even engineers who want to complete quick and early stage studies, such as for design competitions.
